Have you ever been in a conversation with a friend and wanted to reference a verse in that conversation but couldn't remember where it was? Or have you ever tried to find Bible verses related to a particular subject but you weren't having much success with finding them? Having extensive knowledge of the Bible and yet still needing that extra help at times, I find myself in these kinds of predicaments. However, Thomas Nelson publishers has come out with a great companion to the Bible.
Nelson's Biblical Cyclopedic Index contains over 8,000 subjects, names, and events from the Bible with references to finding those in the Bible. What I love about owning this index is that this not only covers so many wonderful topics to find verses but it also gives definitions to many of those things a person may be inquiring about. For example, say you were reading Exodus and you came across the word, Ephod. You can pull out this index, look up the definition to find out Ephod means "a vest" and find all the Bible verses containing this word.
In addition, a person will find several Word Studies in this book giving so much more than just a definition for a certain word but a full, in-depth study of it. For example, for the word, brother, the reader can learn all about it's different meanings as well as how it's used in the Bible with Biblical verses and much more.
This index is a must have for all who are committed readers of the Bible. It would also make a great gift for someone just getting introduced to reading the Bible. What a great idea!
