She Walks in Beauty by Siri Mitchell

When it comes to Christian fiction, there aren't a lot of books that really keep me excited to read. Many lose my interest within the first couple of chapters. As a result, I end up reading fiction in the secular world. However, this book is simply amazing. I couldn't put it down!

As the season's hottest débutante, Miss Clara Carter must make her way to the top and win the De Vries heir's hand in marriage. Several years prior, the De Vries  lost the family's fortune during the Panic. Her father and Aunt are determined for Clara to get back at the family by marrying into it. They have high hopes for her to win Franklin De Vries's hand in marriage. However, despite her feelings for the younger De Vries son, Harry, and the fact that she must compete against her best friend, Lizzie, Clara feels quite convicted. 

Other circumstances take place along the way. Not only is Franklin quite egotistical but he's also sort of a sleeze-ball. Harry, on the other hand, is charming, handsome and genuine. Even more, Clara learns new facts about her own family throughout the season. She finds out the reason for her mother's death and she learns of some family secrets that cause her to rethink her own values as a Godly woman. 

So what will Miss Clara Carter do? Will she choose the undesirable, but wealthy Franklin? Or will her heart lead her to her true love, Harry? Will God teach her that He accepts her no matter who she is? And will she learn her worth to God? Written with great talent, you will enjoy this book. I've already recommended it to several other people! Now, I'm anxious to read this author's other books!
